Lexus Introduces a Hydrogen Combustion UTV/ROV
Joe Breaux replied to Alex's topic in UTV General Discussion
Well, there no funding for it from our idiot president.. Its not one of his big donors. BUT, He just spent $11.9 million for veterinarians to insert I.U.D.s into WILD HORSES to cut their population .. Seems wild horses are running amuck all over America now??? But PETA is claiming its violating horses REPRODUCTIVE rights....LOL go figure Ok so I made up the PETA part but the $11M horsey IUDs is real.. .....LETS GO BRANDON! -
running a new HISUN wide open on its first time out is risky.. These engines are not designed for abuse.. They barely hold up under normal conditions.. My MSU 500 with 1000 miles on it, which is HISUN too, tops out at 40-42mph on flat ground .. I would think the 750 should do better than 45 .. Its supposed to be 10 more HP. The only governor on mine is in reverse

Transmission's grinds on our Buck 450 when you shift it.
Joe Breaux replied to Farm Boy's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
the transmission is under that big hole , I believe.. clutch is on other side where air cooling hoses attach to the outer fan housing .. maybe a google search for engine schematic would help- 48 replies

The prices are insane now when you start adding optional equip.. Mine is no speed demon by any means my friends smoke me on top speeds ............, it will do 42mph on level ground with a good running start but it does VERY WELL in deep mud uphill in 4WD Lock. .. I have friends with "premium " brands that ride with me sometimes and twice I have pulled them out of a big mudhole that I just went thru successfully. and by pulled, I dont mean with my winch.- 48 replies

Its true Massimo is a horrible company, BUT His implosion is not a common issue.. Its the first I have heard of. Not everyone can go out and drop $20K on a new toy. ..........After working all the "bugs" out of mine, it has been running very well for more than a year .. and it's used every weekend .- 48 replies

See, thats the big problem with Massimo.. shops refuse to work on them because Massimo wont honor warranty and pay repair claims.. 3 shops here started out as Manufacturer authorized shops.. now NONE will work on them because they NEVER GET PAID by Massimo..........One will work on them but only if you pay cash in advance because parts take months to arrive . Massimo is a horrible rip off company in Dallas TX.. When I tried to make them pay for repairs, It broke on its FIRST DAY in its first mile!!! the Rep told me.... " NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!" seriously, that what he said to me on phone .. They suck- 48 replies

Then maybe the damage is confined to clutch or the variable ratio transmission .. thats better than a whole engine .. Seek out a GOOD mechanic or get a service manual and watch some videos if you want to try it yourself- 48 replies

These UTV cooling systems use a very small waterpump. Adding enough volume flowing thru hoses to and from another core to provide heat for cab might be too much for the pump. Or it might work great.. Only one way to know for sure ..

2016 Massimo 500 won't idle at start up.
Joe Breaux replied to Doug Thomas's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
sounds like the control module is not enriching fuel for cold starts -
you might try a rattle can of spray UNDERCOATING . its only about $3 , and its pretty tough

Good advice.. I use it on my boats .. wont scrape off , cow poo wont eat thru it.. 2 heavy coats

Massimo T-Boss 410 Pricing and Repair
Joe Breaux replied to WhiteLightning's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
ALL Massimo Parts are made in China , and shipped to Dallas TX and assembled there .. The HISUN engines are also assembled in Dallas from Chinese manufactured parts. I know because mine overheated on its very first day and I managed to talk to a tech in Dallas at the assembly facility .. He got me back in motion.. But that didnt last long. The overheating became chronic and EXPENSIVE because Massimo wouldnt pay the repair bills. Their warranty is non-existant . They have stopped using HISUN engines now, they use LINHAI engines .. Cant say if they are better or not. -

lol Massimo /HISUN Warrantee?? lol .... Massimo shows 3 shops within 200 miles of me... NONE will work on them now because Massimo does not pay them for warrenty claims.. EVER! One small independent shop near me will work on them but requires CASH up front because parts can take months to come in. -
Wow!.. That seems counter to everything I know about engines.... The piston creates pressure in crankcase as it travel downward .. if theres no airspace , to absorb it, the pressure plus the expansion of oil that is hot, should force oil thru the rings and into combustion, fouling plugs . ...and with higher level of oil, the crankshaft is submerged and begins whipping the oil into a foamy mess.. foam does not lubricate .. thus bearing damage occurs .. plus the pressure causes oil leaks to start. maybe you are just at the critical level ? Dont know, but I fill mine to high side of mark with dipstick not screwed in ... never had a clutch fail in a dozen ATV, UTV over 40 years ... and NEVER use full synthetic oil for cars in them... only wet clutch oil
-
I use the 10W40 ACTEVO from Castrol for WET CLUTCH applications ....... use it in my Massimo MSU 500, used it for many years in my Honda ATVs and my Katana Sportbike.. Change them once a year, Never had a wet clutch fail yet

I suggest after new gasket, replace or just remove Thermostat and bypass switch on radiator to make fan run 100% .. .....After that, I have had zero overheat issues even in 95* weather in the mudholes ... ............oh, and the cabin heat issue with mine also went away after getting the engine temp down.. we also tested the HISUN sender on radiator . It was set to turn fan on when engine reached 238*... and its on the return side!!! eliminated it. installed adjustable fan controller.. set to engage fan at 160*. Cabin is no longer hot

2006 Yamaha Rhino 450 milky oil after rebuild
Joe Breaux replied to James Leonard's topic in Yamaha UTV SxS Forum
sounds like a cracked head... been there -
maybe.. Im just happy to be able to go more than a mile without overheating now .. Turns out, if you mix in a few quality YAMAHA parts with Hisun, and modify a few more, you get a decent machine. Mine is running well now.. Just basic maintenance required ... and I use it every weekend at Whiskey Bay ... BUT I wont ever buy another Massimo... Next time it will be HONDA. I have 4 Honda ATVs... they are indestructible..
