  1. The saga continues. Tomorrow hopefully it will be home to take to the race on Saturday as a chase vehicle. Basically a handful of electrical problems, it is a temp fix to use for the weekend then back to the shop Monday and let the electrician loose to fix it correctly. I have found many of the threads around electric issues, will need to translate them for him if he wants them, but I doubt it. He has put enough race vehicles together from scratch. I hope to get pictures with the new tires and radiator set-up this weekend to post, and I will be interested in how the change of the fuel pump to the higher pressure affects if at all. Lastly I just need to do it and buy the King Shocks and be done with it. Maybe I'll wait to see the extent of the electrical stuff first. M
  2. This thread came a little late for me had already bought the Bosch. Oh well
  3. 714-530-8701 is there number. I don't remember who I talked to directly though. Almost $600'per shock
  4. True that. I can't see in the dark
  5. There are post about Kings and I called them and they have them. Just a pretty penny only.
  6. No monsoons here. Just dry and hot we average Less than 3" per year. And of course no border patrol on this side
  7. Back to 4x4 problems, replaced switches with toogles but electric motor is shot new one on the way, also need to replace the winch read almost every post related to winches yesterday. I always carry a tow strap, so I will look for something else. I like the idea of a rope style but would like 100 ft or so. Hopefully next week late or the following week. Will be ready for the Baja 250 though for sure.
  8. Takers no, you will bake in August it will be 115-120 for weeks
  9. Well my motor cranks, and sounds good no motor changes. Had to replace the radiator went with a 22x19 made some slight mods to make it fit upgraded fan tom1750 cfms. Went with the upgrade fuel pumps also. Yesterday I order the Vision rims 15x8 and some BF Goodrich 30 x 9.5 x 15. I'm also talking with King about the possibility of swap out the shocks. At this moment the trooper is at the mechanic he is doing a complete review, I mentioned the differential issues people have had. He has mentioned already to do some reinforcement welding, if I remember correctly someone mentioned to unplug the computer prior to welding correct? When he is done I will update with pics of the radiator. I plan to be ready for the Jamboree. I will definitely bring a camera and take notes. Casey
  10. I guess 6 months in Sayulita or La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Nayarit Mexico, and 6 months South Malibu Beach Erendira Baja Calif Small places laid back "simple life".
  11. Mountains. Chihuahua, Mexico Somewhere in Alaska in the middle of nowhere Sand Baja Sur Mexico Ciudad Constitucion Really the entire 1000 miles from Ensenada to Los Cabos. Baja 1000 route Will Return to Ocotillo Wells
  12. El Golfo, very small city one major Dune which can get chaotic. I don't remember about RV sites there. I choose to sleep under the stars years ago there.
  13. Off roading that I do. I have done quad racing Desert style, anything from Grand Prix to point to point racing. I'm adding a link for the local off road community here in Mexicali CODE. It's next race is Feb 11. I have a few friends racing this race in trucks or buggies, I will help run a pit for one vehicle. http://www.codeoffroad.com.mx What is close for off roading here in Mexicali is Laguna Salada it is typical Desert Racing, sand, rocks woops big and small and a dry lake bed that isn't so dry. Camping is the tough part, pretty much a tent, unless yountravelmback towards town to some small hotels, where out of town racers stay. If you have an RV that works but no electrical or water hook ups. There is also a hot springs in this area with some camping never camped there but I could do the research. I have used the hot springs after a race which was relaxing. About 45 minutes from Mexicali up the mountain 4000 ft level is more riding, I'm not very familiar with it though. Then to the south is San Felipe home of the Baja 250 from SCORE racing, this is on gulf and lots of off road riding here, and you will find An American Community that you can rent homes or other places to bring RV's ( I believe) If there are some seriousmpeoplemabout this I'm happy to do the leg work to get more info. I know many worry about safety but I have been to all these places and livedmhere in Mexicali for the last 10 yrs. imam more secure living here thane when I was in San Diego or Orange County.
  14. Update, bought larger radiator 19" height x 22" length 1750 cfm fan and will relocate in the storage area below the spare tire carrier. Once installed hopefully in a couple weeks will post pictures of what I did.
  15. Let me know. If it means a 4-5 hr drive I'm ok to get what I need if they are open
  16. Getting there. Any idea to know which number I was?
  17. Last gas for anyone that has found or can find the stock radiator, otherwise going custom and looking to mount below the spare tire carrier. Should help with the damn heat here in Mexicali, already picked up a better fan.
  18. Well see maybe I can make just a day trip since it is going to be close to me.
  19. Happy New Year to all. I really need to make the effort for the Jamboree but we have a race near the same time.
  20. Rick. Can you guys find me a radiator.

  21. Back in the hunt for the radiator have ordered twice and then got refunded since the supplier didn't have. Anyone else know where to look. Still trying with Silverbullet, JMC and No limits 4x4.
