  1. Thank you, sir. I may just have to add one to my mower, too. Should there be an inline fuse, too?
  2. Seems like a very inexpensive addition. Wouldn't hurt to try it, I guess. I watched the video, and did a search for other posts. It comes in a kit w/LED relay, but I can install it for way less than what they are asking. Shoot, one site wanted $68.18. Ridiculous!
  3. Thanks for the video. This helped your starting issue?
  4. If I may ask, what is a John Deere starter improvement relay?
  5. Thanks. Can a multimeter be used? There seems to be power getting to the starter solenoid, but it doesn't seem like enough power to turn the engine over. Hitting it a few times gets it to turn over. How did you get the issue fixed?
  6. Well, I have to hit the starter at least a few times to get the engine to turn over and start. The battery is new, and it's a 340cca battery. It doesn't seem like it's supplying the starter with enough juice to turn the engine over. I've already replaced the starter solenoid. I've been researching it, and a few members here have had ignition switch issues. Poor soldering inside the switch is a definite problem with some. I'm trying to go through the starting system and eliminate each part until I can locate the problem. That's why I was looking for a method to test an ignition switch.
  7. Thanks for the response. I've checked the grounds wherever I could locate them, and I can't find any bad connections. I don't know what else to do. Do you know of any way to troubleshoot the ignition switch?
  8. Well, just spent some time looking for a loose ground. The only ground wire I could locate was 3, attached on the frame on the driver's side near the fuel tank. There's a ground wire attached to the starter, which was tight. I still have to hit the starter a few times to get it to turn over. Is there any way to diagnose a bad ignition switch? I checked the battery, and it was showing 12v with the engine off, and 14+ when running.
  9. Thanks for that info. I guess I will be checking all the grounds on my UTV. Great info. Thanks for passing it along.
  10. So, the problem all along was a loose ground wire? Now everything is functioning properly?
  11. There are radios manufactured that include an emergency button that notifies others with the same radio of an emergency. These radios come in both a portable (walkie talkie style) and mobile (mounted) units. However, these radios are VERY expensive, like $5000.00 each. These are used in law enforcement, so I don't know how available they are for the public. There are probably other ways to do this, but I'm not a technician.
  12. Has anyone here replaced the 3 position ignition switch with an aftermarket 3 position switch? If so, which switch did you use, and how did you wire it up? Thanks ๐Ÿ‘
  13. Well, sorry to hear that. Hopefully it can be repaired.
  14. Doesn't 217 psi sound awful high? I could understand 135 - 140 psi, but the 217 sounds like 2X what it should be.
  15. I don't mean to seem ignorant, but did you replace the key switch as well as add the push button start? Also, is the brake interlock still functional? Thanks ๐Ÿ‘
