I will pull the one out of my race car and try it to see if in the Trooper. If it does, it is a standard fit. If it will any speed / race site on line can supply you with and new switch. Maybe even just the key. Watch for another post within a couple hours.

Any updates on how JMC is doing now? I need to buy a battery shut-off switch (just for the key) and I'm hesitating ordering based upon what I've read here. Thanks.

I've ordered a few things and had no problems, they sent one wrong item and when I told them, they sent the correct one right out and they paid shipping and I got to keep the wrong item, brake hoses. If I had a complaint, it would be no tracking numbers and I can live with that.

If you do have a problem, mine have been corrected with a phone call.

Hay Kinarfi, You may want to move the Switch Key source to the Parts & Equipment thread.

Thanks, rocmoc n AZ/Baja

Looking at the pictures of these keys, I would go with the Jegs key because of price and the metal prong, which do you like?

Jegs and then Pegasus. Agree about the metal pin. I have a Pegasus switch & key in my Race Car. The action of the Pegasus switch is much smoother than the Trooper's switch.

Hi. Does anybody have an extra electrical source switch key laying around (for the switch above the battery on the Trooper). I broke mine off in the "off" position and can't find the key "head". Thanks.

Dave

Harbor Freight has the switch in stock for around 5 dollars

Take a look at these 3 photos, I don't think this key will break, made it myself.

It's funny how and when an idea comes to you! Woke up with this idea.

When Lenny and were out and his key broke and got lost, he moved one of the leads coming of the switch so it was always on.

We have could have used my key to get him started, pull the key and let him run on the alternator, then I could have started and run on my key. If you're worried about recharging the battery after starting, take turns running without the key.

So if you're out with another rig that has the master key, try this. or get a spare key.

Hello, All!  I've decided to replace the traction batteries in my 2018 Sector E1 with a 48V Lithium set. They may be expensive, but I figure the Discovery Dry Cell are, too. I am not looking for the max driving range, as I have never received near the brochured range to begin with, but a good mix of charge/ get work done/ charge is what I am expecting.
I have settled on the 48V EAGL kit from bigbattery dot com. Each battery pack provides 30Ah. The kit ships with a charger, as well. The packs would be physically connected in parallel (using a busbar) to one another, maintaining the 48V voltage, but together would be able to provide the amp draw the buggy pulls when going up hill or towing a rake (rated 320 max continuous Amps). This is in comparison to the serial connection the eight 6V lead batteries. Each of the EAGL batteries looks to have its own BMS; am I correct in thinking I will have to use their included charger rather than (simply) changing the onboard charger to lithium mode? The chemistry of the pack is LiFe PO4, for what it's worth.  I haven't torn anything apart yet (to diagram), so  I am not sure how the dash will interpret the AMP draw, but the kit I am looking at includes a dash mounted charge indicator.
If anyone has completed a similar conversion, do you have any tips? Specifically, how did you remove the original batteries, and how did you secure the new ones? I am guessing that almost any change from the stock batteries would involve at least some modifications. Any tips would be appreciated, especially things I may have failed to consider. Thanks!

I have been searching and can't find much info on these units. Pretty surprising as every other thing I own I find a lot of info on. Researching for tech info and such it's like no one owns any of these yet I see them everywhere.

Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.
      Thanks so much!
