If your UTV will fit on the flat deck and your not towing a trailer as well. The flat deck is preferred. The larger length UTVs (4 door) need to use the over deck model. As well as if your towing a trailer. Good luck in your shopping.

We're looking at the Axis 750 at Lowe's. It's the one with the two flat screens in the dash board. The Lowe's store tells me there are no "Service Centers" for them in our area(upper east Tennessee). Now, I've had Chinese products before, namely the ODES 650 UTV. It was a real piece of crap. Are these worth the $12,000 or should I go somewhere else. I like everything about the Axis 750 but skittish. I was told back in October of last year that Axis has not provided any Service Manuals on these models at all. And that the usual UTV repair places won't touch them. Anyone that has these, what kind of issues have you had? What should I look out for, just in case? Thanks in advance. :)

Should be fine, that is the fastest and easiest way to ensure the timing is correct. It can also be used for other projects in the future. Nice tool to have available. That said, if ya want to save the money, you can set timing by hand.

I have a 550 colman and i am trying to get running as it came from another military base. It came without keys battery and all fluids drained. So how can i bypass key switch and can i use a temp battery to start it. I want to make sure it runs first before i replace key parts. I added oil, brake, antifreeze still working on other fluids. not sure if i am missing any electrical parts. Battery in picture is junk i think. not sure what the connector is. probably will have to buy an ignition cylinder in future. So any guidance is appreciated.

Inspect your engine closely, if it's a spin on you should be able to find it. It will probably be in a tight spot and may be difficult to locate at first. If it's anything like my Outfitter 550, you'll want to get a replacement filter with a nut molded on top so next time you can remove it easier next time. On most of the engines I've repaired on Hisun there are marks on timing gear that should be parallel to the head when piston is at top dead center. At the same time, you can remove cover and look at crank. See if key is sheared, look at marks on crank to see if they are lined up. The case should also have a port to view timing marks on flywheel. Also, there should be a port so you can access the crank to turn it with a wrench. (So ya don't need to remove cover) Im not sure how your 700 is set up, but, generally speaking these engines are pretty basic and simple. These are steps if you don't have a timing light.

Do you have a service manual? The spark has to happen at the correct time. Assuming all of your previous troubleshooting steps are correct......Your timing is certainly an important consideration. If an engine has fuel, spark, and compression, it should run unless the spark timing is off. Generally speaking, when you sprayed starter fluid and the result was popping, the engine was telling you there is a timing issue. Especially if the popping was coming from the intake.
