  2. I repaired a bare wire on injector #1 and new O-rings on injectors, ran ok not full power but when warmed up after 5 min or so it starts to surge and won't rev up given full throttle or not no matter what gear is selected, every once in a while it will gain power then lose it again. Doesn't back fire anymore. Any ideas or suggestions other then burning it down.
  3. Can never go wrong with a HONDA
  4. did you change the fuel filters and check the inside of the tank for sludge?.......
  5. I can not find it on the board, so I'm afraid I'm the only cheapo on the forum. What is the fuel economy of the Hisun HS590? (I guess it is the same as the HS550) I count in liter per 100 km, but if you use MPG it's okay with me, but please tell if you use the US or UK MPG!
  6. Hello you all! New member here form Norway. At this moment I don't own a UTV but I (or better 'we' my wife and I) are orientating to buy one. At this moment the Hisun*) HS 590 is high on the list. Seems to be reasonable quality and affordable. But there are some things I have to find out. Hopefully I find the answers on this forum and otherwise I have to ask. *) Here were I live we have sunset at 23:30 and sunrise 03:00. So we have LongSun, maybe I have to change my name in the winter edit: typo
  7. Since you mentioned TSC, I assume you're talking about a Coleman. If I recall, both scales are on the screen, but I'd have to look again to be sure.
  8. As a mechanic I can't say enough about our honda talon 1000x-4 live valve. We aren't drag racing it so it has plenty of power for everything we do. We ride with a rzr 1000 and a can am maverick and go every place they do and sometimes more. We always keep up with no problems without having to ride hard. The actual transmission with gears and clutches are leagues above a belt driven machine in terms of reliability. You'll notice every place you ride sells belts for all belt driven models for a reason. Those owners always talk about how quick they can change a belt. I just do a clutch relearn every oil change and I'm good to go. Also engine oil runs the transmission so every service is replacing both. Simple and reliable. But that's just my opinion as a 25 year mechanic.
  9. I think the tracker 800sx is the quietest on the market. We had one for about 3 years and loved it. Plenty of power and super quiet. Textron who makes it, makes many military vehicles and helicopters. They had roush of jack roush racing make all their engine and transmission mounts and exhaust and it is very wel done. We had a 6 seater and as our kids got older and started riding thier own sxs we went to a 4 seater honda talon. We love it but it is very loud compared to our tracker. We miss how quiet and smooth it was.

  12. There are probably more than one set of contacts. Glad you got it all sorted.
  13. If you have a powersports shop that works on clutches you could get them to put heavier rollers that will keep the cvt in lower "gearing" at the expense of top speed.

  16. I have a part that fell over to the exhaust and burned the harness up. I can't figure out what it is. Does anyone know what the start relay looks like? The part I can't figure out has 4 wires, a red power, a green and brown wire, a black and unsure what the 4th color was. Anyone have a clue?
  17. I’m looking for a quiet side by side for my wife and I. We will do some trail riding but nothing too extreme. We are more geared toward leisure riding since we are in our sixties. We go to Wyoming in the summer and have been looking at the Honda Pioneer 1000, can am defender.
  18. Put a new carb on the 500 to replace the leaking OE one. Machine idles fine and mid and top end runs great. It tends to have a hesitation right from the start - bottom end. Thinking it may be the air/fuel screw?? I didn't do anything with the carb out of the box and is it direct replacement for my machine. Of interest is the manual choke doesn't seem to work very good now.... wonder is it getting too much air? Any help appreciated!

  20. Yes, I can understand that, and yes, I did tap the main relay quite a bit, it's quite different from normal relays... Honestly, I can get the cover off of a normal relay and visually inspect it... I'll share a pic of it, I ordered one off of Amazon, waited for it to fail again, replaced it, and no more trouble!
  21. Okay folks. I have a low power issue. Been like this for a few years. Place I work at bought 3 and all have lost most of the pulling power. They gave them away after local shop worked on one for 3 months and it had great power for about 1 month and then crap. They replaced throttle body, fuel injector, spark plug and IAC motor. Seat belt switches have wires cut and left open so no seat belt warning light anymore. It revs to 6k rpm in neutral but when put in gear and take off in low it just doesn’t seem to want to go anymore. Running 93 octane fuel with Stabil. Any ideas greatly appreciated. I dont have a scan tool but no codes on dash. If held to floor it pops a little and runs almost 5K rpm but if I let off pedal about an inch it smoothed out and revs up to 6k rpm.
  22. Hello, Hope someone can help driver side cv axle broke anyone know of aftermarket ones you can get, I have 40 Hours on the machine and don't want to pay 450.00 for a new one from cub cadet but I can't find anything after market
  23. Live in the mountains and need lower gear to climb at lower speeds and to hold back coming down.
  24. Can't really tell from the video, but it's not uncommon to "stretch" the timing chain and have it jump timing. It would run poorly and make a rattling from the chain case. Can you check the timing? There are manuals in the download section. Most timing chain stretching is due to wear on the chain pins, probably due to bad lubrication or excessive wear metals in the oil.
  25. Relay sticking? Any corrosion visible? If it does it again give it a sharp tap with the bandle of a screwdriver and see if it resolves temporary. Most relay failures I've seen are due to arcing on the contacts or corrosion from water getting inside. They're not well sealed.
  26. Highly recommend you get the setup described in this post for further troubleshooting: Is it overheating? Does the fan come on? Any other symptoms? Any codes on the display? The scanner info above will allow you to see what all the ECU sensors are seeing and you can troubleshoot what could be a sensor issue, as well as codes and pending codes (which won't show on the display)
  27. I don't believe it would fit. Any particular reason why? Are you just towing/plowing at low speeds?
  28. Yep. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Probably something stupid we're missing, but hard to guess. You could try swapping your fuse box and ecu to your buddies rig and see if it starts. I would bet something else got disconnected, or it's possible you just have a bad crank position sensor, but like I said troubleshooting that is hard, without an oscilloscope. That would be my most likely guess, but I don't know that I would throw parts at it without being able to determine it was bad.

I just bought my first SxS.   (XP 4 1000) I have ridden and raced dirt bikes for 40+ years.  Old age has set in and I needed a new format to continue my off road adventures.  My wife and I enjoy exploring old mining sites and ghost towns all over Arizona.  We have a home in Southern Arizona and share our time between home and Phoenix.  We look forward to the tips and information shared here.
