Check your gas tank

Just found cracking in the weld around the filler tube and a near by seam. These are the factory welds. Suspect that the vibrating of the filler tube is causing fatigue. I sujest that everyone monitor their tank for cracks on a regular basis. Mine showed up when I filled the tank and on up into the filler tube. Couldn't see anything come out as it's all but invisible to see but I did see the dripping under the tank. Use a paper town around the filler spout after filling up into the spout. Mine left about a 14" diameter spot on the floor. Wouldn't be good to flood the under panning with gas followed by a subsequent fire.

That's interesting because that is exactely what I plan to do to mine. I now have it out and I'm letting a fan run air through it for a few hours to get rid of any fumes. Should get it welded and back in this afternboon.

you can fill it with argon to back prudge it, or hook it to the exhaust of you car for awhile then weld it

Never done it that way but have heard others have. My main concern is to give it time enough to assure that all the gas that that may be hidden in the cracks of the seams has had time to evaporate out. Thanks for the input.

thats the point of back purdgeing with argon or running a hose to a tailpipe of a running car

I weld a car tank once after filling with soap & water. After it was full with the water & suds, we place a flame in the opening. Small pop and that was it. Still was scarey!! This was when I was young & s****d, I can't write it. I was yound and a lot of fun. Luckily I still am, LOL!!!!!

I had my tank out for leak repair and problem was cracks around mounting tabs.

Had them removed, welded new tabs with triangle gussetts (sp?) underneath each tab. Used rubber washers for cushion/vibration isolators under each mount.

Seems to be fine now.

Also moved filler from back of tank to top so I can fill it at gas station instead of using gas can (it wouldn't handle the flow from pump before).

Oh the joys of upgrading Joyner's!

Anyone have any problems with gas leaking out from the plug on top of the gas level assembly? Other than that, my 08 tank is just fine, with no cracks I can see. Then again, there's only 1k on the machine.

I had same problem. Had to replace the fuel sending unit in tank. Leaked from red wire port on top. I got mine from Casey at JMC. Good luck. Be sure to measure length before you call to order.

Mine leaked there and I used some good gas tollerant sealant and cauked around the area and that has solved the problem.

You should be able to do it from the outside. Give it a chance to set until cured.

I made my first oil change on a axis pro 750 I bought from lowes.  I found a substance that looked and felt like rubber bands in the oil filter and oil strainer at drain plug.  How in the world does this happen unless done on purpose at Hisun factory or assembly.  Has anyone else seen something similar?

So my 2022 Tracker 800SX developed a coolant leak. Under pressure there was a pin hole size leak which was spewing coolant towards the firewall. Upon removing the tank I discovered it was bulging pretty severely such that it caused a small crack. Has anyone else experienced this? I suspect either a faulty tank or perhaps a faulty tank cap (rated at 15PSI).

Question for the audience,  does anyone know the differences in the hs400 and hs500 primary belt clutche and the wet clutch? I have been told the 500 and up engines use a clutch that is interchangeable with yahmahas, but the 400s have a different part number as far as I can find. Is this maybe just different weights in the clutch? Also does anyone know what the factory weights are? Went for a ride in my 400 this week and looking to see if I can get a little more out of her as far as holding higher rpms and maybe getting a bit more aggressive clutch engagement sooner.

2015 massimo gunner 250, 100 hrs shown use. Problem: antifreeze does not go into the tube/engine when attempting to add thru the radiator cap?  (The overflow reservoir shows “low”, so i believe add’l fluid is needed). Any advice appreciated!

I purchased my Hisun Sector E1 three years ago.  I think there are a few hundred miles on it, and lots of charging.  A couple of weeks ago it started sputtering a lot, not charging fully, and discharging fast.  I took a look at the battery compartment under the seat, and noticed this (picture below) which certainly explains a lot!
      Questions:
      1) Where are those disconnected and corroded wires suppose to go?
      2) I took out half the batteries thinking they might be in bad shape, but measured 5.4v on all of them, which doesn't seem bad considering they probably haven't been charging for a while.  Do you think I should replace them all at this point (after three years), or just fix the wiring (although I'm not sure what caused that to happen), or they may still be perfectly good?  I certainly don't want to put them all back (as I mentioned I removed four out of the eight only to have to remove them again if they are not in great shape.
      3) If I do replace them, I noticed there are much cheaper options on Amazon for AGM 6v batteries (Weize GC2 is one option) that are the same size and slightly higher AH than the original Discovery ones.  Any thoughts about going with these?  I know a lot of folks replaced the AGM with lithuim, but not sure I want to go through the hassle of also replacing the onboard charger, etc.  I fine with AGM and getting a few years out of them.
      Thanks!
