Wow we have been having a fun few days. Saturday we had high wind, the back of one of our stalls was torn apart and the neighbor had a huge storageshed on the back of a flatbed trailer that was picked up and thrown to the ground, not much left of it. Sunday the weather was nice and we spent the day repairing the damage and doing cleanup, the pool had over an inch of dirt in it, leaves to be raked and of course the stall to be repaired. Got up this morning to bone chilling cold then by 9 am it started to rain (snow mixed in) its been the same all day, snow is sticking on the other side of the valley from us. Hard to believe this is Las Vegas, we were still warm last week! The grandkids are hoping for snow next week, Grandmas hoping for hawaii weather (LOL)!

Hope everyone is safe in this crazy weather pattern the country seems to be in.

It has been in the low 80's during the day and mid-40's at night. We are currently just South of Guadalajara in a little town called Villa Corona. We are going to move 3 hours to the Pacific Coast and South of Puerto Vallerta (sp). Temps are Mid-80's and low 70's at night.

Its snowing in Las Vegas/Henderson! Dogs are having the times of their lives playing in the court yard. The backyard is just to slippery around the pool to risk. The road to Boulder City is closed, I-15 is closed at Mountain Pass. The airport is closed because of visability, there is snow on the runways. People are driving like idiots. But we're all home, safe and warm. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m.

Cinda I would definitely mount a plow to that T4.

That limo would look cool plowing the snow :D

I am sure George has already entertained the idea!

We have had a record month and year for snow we had 13" last night and Friday we had 8". We have gotten over 36" in the last 6 weeks. I cant see one of my cars in the back yard. This is just incredible and we are supposed to get another 3" tomorrow. I don't think it will ever quit. I am sure glad I bought a new snow blower last month. I think next year I will get tracks for the Trooper it goes good in snow but I think 6' in the ditches is a bit much.

That is incredible, so much for global warming.

Here in Northern Nevada we have had a little bit less than normal snow pack in the mountains.

The weather has been in the 50's and near 60 degree weather today so it has been great but this is about normal for us.

My son is a doctor in Atlanta and has been freezing his butt off there every time I talk to him. :)

Sounds like you need one of these for off roading.

Here are some pics of the incredible amount of snow we have this year. The Jimmy in one of the pics has 8" of lift and 36" tires if I stand next to it I cant look in the windows and I am 6' tall. Another pic is of a Dodge Daytona and all you can see is the antenna.

She's fair to say that we are having a rip snorter of a summer over here and the grass is a light shade of brown. Didn't really want to tell you how nice it is over this side of the ditch but couldn't contain myself any more. 4x4x454 I do feel for you mate and at times jealous of all that snow but I do understand the extra effort you must have to put into every day just to get though your daily routine. In a short six months you will be as happy as a bull amongst cows while I'll have all the mud and cold to contend with & I don't like thick cold mud that much. I hope that gives you a lift a bit.

Cheers Mike.

When we started getting all the snow I thought it was cool we haven't had much snow in about 12 years just cold. But I am starting to get sick of the wind we get its not so bad for me I live in town but my folks live 12 miles out of town at the lake and the road drifts in every time they plow it. My folks are lucky to get out every 6-10 days. The last time they got out they got stranded and spent the night in their van in a small town and then spent 3 days with us and 3 days with my great aunt before they could get home.

First time posting on this forum so be gentle LOL!

I've used the SEARCH function but can't seem to find this topic.

I have a new AXIS (Lowes) 500 SxS. It didn't come with the slide in Hitch Adatper (See pictured below) so I can't connect any of my existing components to this unit. The fact that they use a retainer that goes Up and Down instead of the standard left to right means I can't use standard "Reese Hitch" type slide in. Where can I get this component? I've contacted LOWES and they gave me a phone # to AXIS and I've called AXIS 3x, emailed 2x, and left 3 Facebook messages since February and I have gotten ZERO help.

      Any ideas?

It has done this since day one that we purchased it from Tractor Supply. I contacted the service man that Tractor Supply recommended and he told us that there wasn't anything he do to help us with. Has anyone had this same problem and can offer suggestion on to correct this issue ? It would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone has plated one of these machines in any state.  I'm in FL and am going to try to plate my T-Boss 550x Golf.  Talked to a State Trooper who said it's absolutely plateable the way it sits and also talked to my insurance company and they said the same.  I'm not sure what they will consider this type of machine, a golf cart or low speed vehicle.  Their are different stipulations for both.  I'll keep this thread updated once I get an inspection.

So, I have found a very possible and very interesting engine swap after looking for quite awhileBTW I am still looking and researching. I present to you the 1.4L cylinder out of a Chevy Cruze.
Let me first caveat this by saying I have NO problem with my Chery engine. But it seems to have only so much potential and there is not enough technical support and R&D out there. Considering there are thousands and thousands of Chery 1100s out in the world (mostly in other countries) we should have WAY more options than we do.
The problem I DO have with the Chery 1100 is the transmission it is bolted too. Even if you BORE, Supercharge, Nitrous this engine the tranny just too weak. I would be more inclined to do motor work if there was a stronger gearbox we could strap to it. My experience has shown me the output shaft is weakthats a stock motor. If you power it up what is next to goprobably clutches.
NOW--Why the 1.4L turbo out of a Chevy Cruze?
      ITS AN ECOTEC!
They are plentiful (fleet car motor) and can be had for relatively cheap ($500-$2000 depending on condition and if it comes with or without the turbo).
They are compact and lightweight--all aluminum block and cylinder head.
They are decently powered (138hp) and even better torque (148 ft/lbs)!!! Most smaller engines, to include ATV/UTV gas powered engines, the hp numbers are always higher than torque numbers. I care about TORQUE! In this case torque is the king over hp and it peaks at 2500 rpm!!! This motor was specifically designed to produce low to mid-range torque.
Also, keep in mind factory engines are designed to be economical. This engine could be easily tuned or a bigger turbo installed to go well over 200 hp.
Now, the most IMPORTANT partputting the power to the ground:
The stock Cruze comes with either a six speed manual or an automatic/hydramatic six speedwith manual shift capability!!! Now, I know what you are thinking. We need a low first gear. Now, I cant find anything online about the Troopers first gear ratio. I called Joyner and I am waiting for a call back. If anyone knows please post. My best guess is its around 5:1???
More intriguingfirst gear in the manual of the Chevy Cruze is 4.27 which is quite low in comparison to most cars being in the 3:1 range. EVEN BETTER the automatic comes with a first gear ratio of 4.58 to one. That is the lowest factory first gear ratio I have found in any FWD 4 cylinder car so far. If you know of one lower please share. Now that may not be low enough for us, but when you keep in mind WE ARE DOUBLING OUR TORQUE it should offset the need for a granny gear. Last, it comes with the manual shift option. This means you can just push the lever forward to shift and back to downshiftNO CLUTCH!
Now this is just a birds eye view of this potentially sweet drivetrain swap. Outside of the normal custom intake/exhaust, mounts, rewiring of any engine swap here are some of the bigger things that need to be figured out/answered:
How do we lock up the differential in the gearbox differential like the trooper is? The trooper has basically a spool (fully locked). In RWD buggies Joyner turns the motor and tranny 90 degrees and opens the differential (I hear some models are full locked).
How would auto/hydramatic transmission handle the stress of offroad?
Will technology get in the way of making things simple? Nowadays if you disconnect a seat belt sensor the car wont start (exaggerating herea little). How hard will it be to simplify the ignition system and get the electronics for the transmission of in harmony?
Interested to hear your guys thoughts and concerns
