  1. not recently......when i bought our mule in 2015 it was pretty pricey...........then add on accessories.........but if you saved several thousand to purchase an off brand, and it implodes in a short period of time, with no one to support it or fix it, are you really saving money......believe me,, i understand about spending the extra $$............. when i told my spouse how much i was spending on the mule, with blade, winch, cab enclosure, i got the "look".............
  2. scrap that off brand. buy a honda. kawasaki, kubota.............................
  3. 2015 mule, when shifting, the unit must be completely stopped, and engine at idle....otherwise, i get the same grinding .........
  4. 2015 mule......i run a portable generator in the bed when plowing, with a small electric heater in the cab for warmth.....to keep the windshield from fogging, i have a small 12 volt fan that directs air to the windshield.........that keeps fog at bay....for the exterior, i have no windshield wiper so i carry a squeegee to keep it clean....been using this method for several years, works like a charm.........
  5. suggestion, keep a couple sets of the plow foot pads in your garage.....i usually break one each year, and they do wear out
  6. mackc, he asked about unit running to get power to the port, that is why i responded as i did........................
  7. cliffyk, just curious.......why do you say the coleman 400 doesn't have enough power to plow snow, if a snow plow could be located?...........my mule is a 400, and it does an excellent job plowing...........
  8. mackc, do you have an enclosed cab? is your muffler in good shape? are massimo's air cooled?.............these types of utv's are never gonna be "quiet" until the do away with gas and go electric............
  9. our mule has windshield and complete cab enclosure......engine noise isn't an issue as i normally have "radio headphones" on (and engine is only single cylinder 400 cc).....as for less heat in summer, windows down and i have a 12 volt fan for air circulation.........as i mentioned before, i use portable genny and space heater for heat, plus use the fan directed toward windshield to keep "fogging" to a minimum while plowing snow..........i am not familiar with cfmoto u force, but i am sure you can "mcgyver" something..........
  10. what are you trying to accomplish.........?..............keeping warm in winter?.....if so, you will need a heat source.......i use a 2200 peak watt portable genny in bed of mule, hooked up to a 1500 watt space heater..............works great......no additional insulation
  11. can't say about hisun, but on our mule, key must be on for power port to work......
  12. is it getting fuel.....when my mule started that crap, i changed the fuel filter and it was perfect
  13. how will these mirrors work if you have a cab enclosure?......a mirror would be a nice feature, especially when plowing snow
  14. our mule did exactly the same thing, but ours was a plugged fuel filter.............new filter and some seafoam in the tank and problem was solved.................but i see you changed the fuel filter, so hope you get it fixed.........
  15. anyone out there ever install a small inverter in their mule to provide electrical power for a radio, fan, etc........thanks in advance
  16. welcome to the mule family...........love ours....................since we bought it, i added a soft top with doors, windshield, winch, and a snow plow...............also, i rigged up a 2200 watt generator in the bed to provide power for an electric heater and small fan for plowing in the winter.......as for the brake issue, we have had none........as for the power issue, you have to remember, if same engine as ours, it is only a 400 cc single cylinder, putting out only about 14 horsepower..........my zero turn has almost twice that much..............and never sell the locking differential, low range, and 4 wheel drive short................i have been in some pretty deep snow, and it has performed great everytime..............i do wish it had a windshield wiper and a rear view mirror..............best of luck to you..................ps. we have had it since 2015..........so far, no issues..........................
  17. in my kawasaki mule, i use a sam's club battery for lawn mowers.........keep it on a tender when not in use, especially in the winter months..........usually get about 3 yrs or more out of the battery.....................
  18. while we are at it on the topic of plows, i use a moose 5 ft blade............this year, i am having an issue with the blade pads breaking off............seems they are being made cheaper................lost two of the "mushroom" ends yesterday..........i just took them off until replacements come...........................anyone else have this issue..............i am mostly plowing 2 inch snows on concrete or blacktop driveways.............
  19. i tried a propane heater, puts out too much moisture, fogs up the windshield........also, there are some fumes
  20. cliffyk...............yep, that is pretty much what i use, but it is one of the "fancier" ones that doesn't work as well...................i am hoping mine will break so i can get the "milkhouse" style.................
  21. purchased a mule 610 se back in 2015 to use primarily to move snow....., had local dealer install warn 2500 winch and cab enclosure. along with a moose 5 ft plow..................the winch uses standard wire cable, which has worked well for plowing..........while i do not have the amount of property you do, i plow out many neighbor's driveways as they are the older residences that simply cannot do it.............i am unfamiliar with synthetic cable, but have only had the wire break once..............the mule is an excellent plowing unit, it will push a lot of snow............the one thing you should think about, if your new unit doesn't have it is HEAT...............plowing can get cold, even if you have a cab enclosure............i looked at the factory "heater", which is an engine enclosure that directs heat to the cab............i didn't think that would be sufficient, so i rigged up a 2200 watt portable generator in the bed, and plug in a standard milk house style heater in the cab...................in addition, i use the 12 volt cigarette lighter style plug in the mule to run a small 12 volt fan, to direct air on the windshield..............i have plowed with this set up for several years, and it works like a charm............i get the job done, while remaining toasty warm in temps that have reached down into the single digits...................good luck with your purchase, and enjoy your new "toy".............
  22. thanks kenfain............i had the same idea about the windshield...........was eyeing a piece of plywood in the garage yesterday to use........................
  23. good morning, new to this site...got a question......i have a 2015 kaw mule with the soft top enclosure........doors with zipper windows, plastic windshield.........i want to tow the thing on a trailer up to our cabin, about 340 miles of mostly interstate driving......the instructions for the top say "remove for towing or use enclosed trailer"..........removing would be a pain, and i don't have an enclosed trailer..............anyone have another solution?.........how much will it screw it up if i tow as is?.....should i put a plastic tarp over the thing and secure the tarp to the trailer?......any suggestions would be helpful.....thank you in advance
