This is interesting. A ATV/UTV Jamboree in Hurricane, UT. Here are the ride descriptions. Maybe there is an area at one of the ride locations that allows camping and would provide the riding for the entire weekend. Anyone know these trails? There is more info about the Jamboree by clicking the header.

Yes, I know about the Jamboree. My neighbor used to be one of the organizers. I've ridden a few of them but not all of them. For the most part, the trails that are near each other are pretty easy relatively level trails and include running down graded roads. Some of the trails are ok but the trails are seperated by as much as 2-3 hours of driving. People sign up for specific trails so the distance works as St George and Hurricane are sort of central to all of them. Some of the trails are for the Tri State Jamboree only and are available by special permit to them only. The only place that has possibilities is the Coral Pink sand dunes area which is about 1-1/2 hours from my house. There is a pretty good network of trails there and I had already planned on checking them out fuirther, haven't ridden all of them. Camping there is good too and lodging would be in Kanab, UT. Two of the trails of the Tri State Jamboree are in that area, the Mail Drop and the Barricks trails. I'll take a closer look at the trails I didn't ride thru the colder months and let you know.

Talked to http://www.lutherwood-utah.org/loc.htm this morning with a gentleman named Neil. He said they did have trails & roads that could be ridden. He is going to have a couple of people who stay at the campground that have ATVs email me with more info. Looks good on Google Earth but that is limited. He said it is quite and off the beaten path. It is also a Passport Park so members, we are, get half rate fees to hookup. Only about 70 miles northeast of Hurricane. Maybe a good one to check out.

Lenny, Neil also gave me a name of someone who is suppose to know most/a lot of the trails in So. Ut. and lives in Hurricane. His name is AJ Billings.

I just recieved this email from Lutherwood Campground.

There are many ATV trails that originate from Duck Creek and Panguitch Lake and Hatch area of Utah, all near Lutherwood. There are many dry camping sites near the Mammoth Cave area that have direct access to these trails and there are forest roads that can be used from the Lutherwood camp area.

The web link below is of the many trails within the State of Utah and the information of some of the trail heads is noted.

Sorry I do not know personally of these access points but I had talked with some ATV hauling campers that stayed at Lutherwood in 2008 and they had found access from the camp to the trail system. The below web link has a list of trails and maps/trail side photos. You will need to do some research on your own as to terrain and difficulty that your group wants to tackle. I know that a lot of the trails circle around and return on themsleves, that is the nature of the landscape (cliffs and lava flows) with many lookout points. The trails are a lot busier around holidays and long weekends.

Enjoy your visit to Lutherwood and southern Utah.

Another email I have received,

We spend at least one week every year at Kings Creek Campground just down the way from Ruby's Inn. It is U.S. Forest Service campground with bathrooms, water and dump station. It is one of the few parks you can ride an ATV right out of the park from. Also have fishing there from tropic reservoir and several of the trails go along the perimeter of Bryce. Deer, antelope, elk, turkey, etc is viewable in campground area! You can ride to Hatch Utah, over the mountain and have breakfast or you can ride to Henderson Point near Pine Lake for an awesome view also.

Here is a link to maps of the area around Ruby's Inn. Most of the trails are side by side approved.

Looks like there is hotel/motel/inn/lodge within 20 miles or less. Adjusted for using less fuel to get there in/with an RV, probably less expensive even tho hotel/etc is in the $75+ range.

Iwill have my Motorhome so not worried,just thinking of others who may need the Motels.That area looks real good.Thanks again,hope we can have a large gathering.

The final location will depend a lot on the people who may have a chance to do a drive by. April 1st is the selection day per Lenny!

Planning to check out the trails south of Hanksville, UT in March. These are not going to be regularly riden trails but more old mining trails. The location is somewhat remote so it doesn't get regular ATV traffic. There is lodging in the area at Hanksville and probably near the north end of Lake Powell. I'm going to check out two different locations that are about 20 miles apart and probably a few more. Kinarfi, I'm hoping that you have your Trooper ready to go and you and Linda can make it, it should be a fun exploritory trip. These trails can go back in for 40-45 miles. This is Canyonland type stuff. I have no idea of what kind of trails we will find and that makes it that much more of an adventure. I did drive in one trail about a mile of so and it was great stuff. Not outragous stuff but unforgetable just the same. Anyone who is interested in joining in on the trip is welcome. I don't care rather you have a Joyner or another brand. I'm not too excited about going back that deep in without using the bubdy system. If were alond, I will bring our mountain bikes just in case. When your 45 miles in, your going to pretty much be 45 miles from anything so getting stranded is complicated even though I take provisions to deal with that kind of situation. This trip should be exciting, come on along. I am going to be checking out the trails at Coral Pink sandunes too But that will be a different time or on my way back from Hanksville area. Not the sandunes there but the back trails of which I have not yet riden all of. Of course anybody is welcome on that trip too. Dates are open except March 11 through the 14th. Jeanne and I will be going to Tucson AZ. to visit with her family there.

Got it on the calendar for March + or - a month, guess I better get after the engine, haven't even started yet, kind of planning on starting today, and when I do, I'm going to photo the project to death and post in an album on webshots, if I do a good job of it, I don't have to take a bunch of notes, I can just go back to the photos I took for where wires and connectors go and so forth and so on.

Lenny, do you have any GPS coordinates for the places you wanted to check out, I, and I'm sure others, would like to preview the areas on Google earth and other maps. As I remember, and marked them on my maps, it was

Is this "get together" still going to happen? I might be able to make it if it's around the end of June. We're still trying to figure out if we're buying a used motorhome; or getting a Toyhauler instead. (Much cheaper to get a toy hauler) Anyways; i've found some camping/riding areas in Eastern Oregon I'm going to check out at the end of May or first week of June. I have a feeling I'll be pumped up to go to Utah after that! ;)

Yes, the 2011 Joyner Jamboree will happen. several of us are planning on being there. Hope you come too. It's always fun and the comradery is great. Even if you don't have a Joyner, we promise to not badmouth what you bring. We like them all, we just like to think ours are a little bit better. Have fun in Oregon.

After checking out the other thread concerning where the Jamboree will take place; It looks like I probably will be able to make it at the end of June. Those dates look good (tenetavely) Is the road (Poison Springs) off of 95 to the "camp" area in good shape for motorhome travel ? (I realize I could assume that, but just wanted to make sure before driving 900 miles.) Actually we have relatives in Henderson that we'll go see after the Jamboree. Sounds like a GREAT time!!! WooHoooo! B)

We tried to pull input out of everyone on the board for a date. When no one came forward with any dates & I had offered a date, Lenny & I set the date. Lenny was going to try & check a couple areas out and anyone else (but no one again at the time had offered but Kinarfi has since) with a April 1 date as when we would chose a location. That is the summary of what was posted. If there is a different understanding, please say something.

Kinarfi and I will be checking the Posion Springs site the first weekend in march tenetively pending Kinarfi getting assembled. I don't think getting big campers and motorhomes in will be any problem but well confirm that too. This is good, looks like a lot of joyner guys are startingto get excited about it. You don't have to have a joyner to come either. Hopefully Cinda and George will be comming.

      Joyner 1100 oil pressure problem.

      I have a 2007 Joyner 1100 sand viper and  before it even get's to where the thermostat opens up the oil pressure get's so low I have to shut it down. What could fix this ? I thought about adding an oil cooler with fan, thicker oil, or removing the thermostat. Any advice?

      Shift cable problem, 2017 Stampede 900, need advice

      I bought a 2017 Stampede 900 last fall that was new, old stock with less than 5 hours on it thinking that I would be getting a relatively trouble free UTV as compared to buying a used Polaris or CanAm, or Honda, etc. It's been a little quirky, but reliable. What I thought was just a minor issue with this model, the difficulty in shifting between R, N, L, H, etc., was just a characteristic of this model is now a big problem. I had to climb two very steep trails to get to the upper meadow of our hunting property, which seemed to stress the UTV more than usual since I was carrying some lumber to work on a platform for a hunting blind, and when I went to shift into park, I felt something give and it would not shift out of low, but it did move up into high gear.  I couldn't get it to shift at all at that point and the shifter felt mushy for lack of a better word. I was able to get it down to the lodge and when I investigated, I discovered that the straight, metal tube portion of the shift cable had bent to almost 90 degrees (see pics). I'm positive that it had already had some deformation that had happened previously and it had the right amount of resistance to bend to the point where it was unusable. 
      I have two questions:
      1. I suspect that there must be some other issues that makes this UTV difficult to shift, and I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if someone could enlighten me on what could cause this to be difficult to shift?
      2. Have any of you had this happen and if so, how difficult is it to replace the shifter cable?
      Any other advice is welcome, this is the first UTV that I've ever owned, so I don't know much about working on these or maintaining them. I'm relatively capable when it comes to working on my own vehicles in general, and I'm not afraid to take things apart and get my hands dirty.
      Thanks in advance for any insight, I'll be traveling most the day so I won't get a chance to look at replies until this evening.

      Is an ATV rally a good fit for our seasonal nudist campground?

      Hi everyone and I hope that is not a too forward questions for us newbies. 
      My husband and I are ready (next Spring) to open our newly developed nudist campground in Iowa and we are now looking for interesting activities to host. 
      Don't worry we are not going to try and sell you a membership because as of 2 weeks ago all of our 50 campsites are sold out for the 2024 season. 
      It was my job to sell site and now that is complete i am looking for interesting actives host for weekend. 
      We have 300 acres of woods, grassland, swamps and 2 small ponds/lakes and dozens of miles of riding trails.
      we have gotten county approval for the complete 300 acres to be clothing optional. 
      We think we have a great spot for a weekend or several day ATV / mudder event. 
      Clothing would be optional for all participants and plenty of room for overnight camping and outdoor group showers. 
      Now we are looking to you pro  ATV riders to let us know if you think your group of people would fit in with ours. 
      Feel free to ask anything you would like to get a better idea of what we offer.

      Haven't posted in a while since solving the excessive cabin noise issue, so I thought I would share a few upgrades to my Sector... Realize that this is driven daily on the street, so some of the mods are to make it more streetworthy.

      Locking gas door.

      Rear view mirror.

      Modified windshield for better airflow in cabin.

      Lowered and modified headrest bar for improved rear view.  Tailgate protector.

      Folding armrests.

      Overhead utility rack.  Keeps the interior cooler and dryer, too!

      Folding rear seats.

      Dust cover and seat protector.
      If anyone wants links to the rear view mirror, seats, or arrests, let me know and I will post.  But know that everything requires some level of fabrication.  The utility rack was all custom built.  Cheers!

      2023 Hisun Axis 700 fuel problem

      I have a AXIS 700 EFI Fuel pump pressure stays at 40 psi and when return line is blocked the pressure goes to 60 psi. and wll only run with return line closed.
