  1. Interesting, has a lot of possibilities. You can mount up front in all that space we have up there. BUT did you notice the location of the seller, Tel-Aviv, Israel. He says a lot of the new cars are running a electric pump so how about the local wrecking yard. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  2. Welcome, this is the place! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  3. Are you running on a lot of hard surfaces? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  4. Share more why you need zero toe. Zero toe or positive toe is normal for experienced black top racers. In the dirt, a little neg toe helps to stabilize the steering. Steering box does not have anything to do with camber. Bumper steer yes but that is a function of location/alignment of the steering rack with the pivot points to the spindle. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  5. Nah, I just don't have enough money! LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  6. The simple/KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) thing to do is replace the factory steering wheel with a larger dia. steering wheel. Beyond that, I have a buddy with a high HP sandrail. He runs a small/tiny power steering unit the size of a box of Cracker Jacks that mounts inline with the steering shaft about a foot from the steering wheel. You still have to have the existing rack in place. Next time I see him I will get info & price. Also looking at Golf Cart electric units & ATV electric units but concerned if they would be durable enough given our size & weight. The Golf Cart & ATV units could be found used. My goal is around the $200 range. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  7. Looks good but need to post prices! Just me but when prices are not posted (even a ballpark price) on a item for sale it makes me think, "Must be a lot of money". rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  8. Agree, that is too much to pay for power steering. We all will come up with a less expensive solution. Great minds working here! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  9. Radial flex more than bias. That is the principle behind the design to keep the tread/contact patch always in contact with the surface. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  10. OK, now I am with you. I have another car that has the oil cooler it that location. Open on the front side so air is drawn from the underside and flows out into the wheel well. Only downside I can think of is if you were in mud/snow and had to back up and spun mud/snow into the fins of the cooler. A problem for ME is I have one of the early units and that location is where the fuse block is installed, easy move but more work. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  11. BUT, radial would be better for rock climbing (wall flexing). I reality, IMHO I don't think it matters until you turn Pro! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  12. After installing Pickup Tires on my Trooper, I WILL NEVER go back. No comparison, better in every way. I can't think of a neg! showa, look under the Topic Trooper and you will find a post detailing my conversion. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  13. I issue is, What is the critical failure angle of the CV joint for the front drive axles. If you turn too far the CV can fail in the same matter if the suspension having too much shock travel. Until someone pushes the limits and we know what that angle is, it is just a WAG (Wild Ass Guess). rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  14. I think you need some airflow or there won't be much to gain. An oil filter adaptor from any engine that takes the same filter will work. I believe/think the oil inlet is the center and it does make a difference. I believe/think oil filters have a check valve. On got the lines crossed on my race car one time and had zero pressure to the head & gauge. Almost ruined the lifters but quickly knew something was the matter when I heard the dry tapping sound from the lifters. Switched the lines and everything was fine. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  15. It is more what is available. Not many choices. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  16. If you want a softer ride and spend zero money, just back spring tension on the existing shocks. This is not easy to do without a couple of spring tesion tools to colopse the spring a little but easier than moving the mounts. My T2's ride is/was great. You are the first who was unhappy with the ride. Everyone else who has been changing/working on the shocks are over the edge type, including myself. What kind of race car? I have a INEX Legends, sold my SpecRacer Ford last year. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  17. I had thought of the location also but my concern was oil pressure drop. A oversized line would reduce headloss but I would still put a secondary pressure gauge inline to monitor the pressure near the return location on the motor. Yes you could come off a oil filter adapter, but what adapter? You do it first, run a day in hot weather and report back. If everything goes well, then we will follow. There has to be a leader, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  18. I don't want to put anything up there. If/when I go to the dunes the rack will be removed to reduce weight. Also in serious rock climbing, if/when I roll the rad/oil cooler would be exposed to damage. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  19. My skid plates are ALL wielded on. Later Joyner realized this was a mistake and started bolting them on. I had to cut the rear plate off and will add an aluminum plate held on with flat U-bolts I will make out of threaded 1/4" stock. The bolts will be inside and there will be six of the U-bolts. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  20. Smooth side down, done deal. Thanks! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  21. I looked last night and if someone comes up with a location for the cooler, let me know. In front or back of the radiator is not good as we need all the airflow to cool the coolant. I have a cooler but no location! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  22. I have the early Trooper with the wielded skid plates. I had to remove the one under the engine when I put the new driveline in. I am replacing with aluminum diamond plate. Question is, Diamonds in toward the engine or diamonds out towards the rocks & dirt? I don't think it really makes a difference and the seal/fit is better with the diamonds out. What ya think? I don't think aero drag and down-force is an issue, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  23. Check Ebay Motors under Legends race car/parts. There is a trick oil cooler for this car that can be bought for a good price that will work. I have an extra and will look at installing on the Trooper. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  24. I am also running Lexan. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
