I am running a Spark Arrestor from a VW. Will install a MegaFlow when I get a chance. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Thanks for sharing, something we will all look at since steering the thing is kind of important. Someone else had a steering shaft issue a few months ago and took care of it. With two now, I am definitely looking more closely at the shaft again as I did give it a passing look last time. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Interesting, I have an extra oil cooler & fan from another project. I'm going to look at it today.

Lenny, You say you replaced the front drive shaft, with the same or a CV joint shaft? Have not heard of anyone replacing or needing to replace the front shaft. I got to keep my old read drive line so now I have an anchor. I did get my replacement last May and just got around to putting it in. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Tire tread pattern makes a big difference also. With the new tires, I am not getting nearly as much coming back at us MOST of the time. Unfortunately, the new tires/rims are even wider and have a greater potential. I will have to make something from fiberglass as the rear fenders had to be cut for the upward movement of the rear tires. This will require a entirely new fender design. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

What happen / problem? They were good to me for parts when I was still in the warranty period. A lot depends on your dealer and mine was great about going to bat for me, often beyond my expectations. Good luck! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Pretty sure I have this one correct but since we have this great resource I am going to use it. The Owner's Manual says to use 90wt gear oil. I assume this is the same gear oil as the diff. I am going to use/change out to Royal Purple Max-Gear Sae 75W-90W also good for Limited Slip. Reason I am asking is because my last race car used Trans Fluid and it was also an Asian Manual Trans. The little bit of leakage when I changed out the driveline was gear oil not trans fluid. Anyone see it differently or have any concerns? OR what did you use? Thanks, rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

On the early units there was some neg. camber in the rear wheels. Later they took it out. I don't mind it, lets me corner faster, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Seems like you could buy a complete new engine for less the $4,000. I would look at a replacement rather than a rebuild. I would shop around on the internet for a complete engine. You can buy a Chevy Crate race engine for nearly $4000. $4000 I can buy a modified Yamaha race engine for my race car. Even tho is was as cold as it was, if the rad & cooler are plugged you could burn it up. I sure would try Factory Rep to see if they would help. Nothing to lose! Good luck! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Welcome! Camlock seat belts, Tires/Rims & Shocks IMHO are the necessary upgrades. Then air cleaner, roof, windshield, hood hinge, move the headlights and more. It is all in old post. Check out my album in my profile for pics of most of my upgrades. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I will get pics up. Finally had to just put the diff back in. Too many things going on to deal with lowering it and my buddy with the mig has been sick. Not as important to me since I put the big rims & tires on with the increase in ground clearance. Anyway, took it for a test drive. The cracking, cyclical noise was the driveline. All quiet now! I knew I was running on borrowed time. Now I have to redo the skid plate. Since I have one of the early ones, we had to cut it off. I wil replace with something I can remove if necessary in the future. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Really KOOOOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico -
Flatbed can commit better on this than I can, but I feel the 13 or 13.5 are the way to go. With the 31's I am running the powerband became much more usable. Instead of running in 2nd or 3rd, you would be running in 1st or 2nd. I really feel my Trooper is faster thu the gears now & pulls better with the bigger tires. I plan to run the bigger paddle should I start playing in more blow sand. A side note is most of the time I am running at a lower RPM so less heat to the engine at speed. What gear are you in when you were playing with the Rhino? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

With the little tweaking we have done, It Is a Beast! The only place place another SideXSide could compete was in the sand and with the new wheels & tires this may have changed. BUT, with the new shoes it does not seem like a SideXSide. It is more like a small Jeep or Suzuki Samurai. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

brostar, Sorry! Have not seen or heard otherwise. IMHO, Joyner has to go another mile before they can pull that kind of press. A better warranty or no parts failures or something. KIA got a better rating / press than Land Rover even tho Land Rover is a better vechile and KIA has more breakdowns. KIA has an incredible warranty, easier to work with and cheaper. Maybe that needs to be Joyner's future to break thu into the big boys' play yard. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I think the sideXside of the year thing is just like RZR saying they have the top speed. Just sales speak. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I don't think the gain in performance would put a sway-bar high on the list of upgrades. Tires or Shocks are number 1and/or2, more engine power via chip or mass flow fuel improvement and power steering next. Then I will take a look at the sway-bar. Sadly I am stuck on the first two and it will be some time before I get to the next two. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Not for me. I want/need a steering wheel. There are electric units on some of the ATV now and a friend of mine who has a V8 powered sandrail which has a slick fluid unit. Also at one time I had heard Joyner was going to offer an electric unit as an option on the Trooper. I think the electric unit is the best option as we have a full fledged alternator system on the Trooper, no electric power shortage. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I have but a sway bar is most useful on hard surface, street driving. In the dirt or rock climbing it would restrict the wheel from working independently. A sway bar would have to be detachable. Since I am mostly in the dirt, not on my list of upgrades at the moment. Regarding the steering, with the larger tires I am looking at electric power steering assist. romcoc n AZ/Mexico
