2008 Massimo 700 high speed problem
Greg Kilgore replied to Robert G1's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
Maybe take the door off and side skirt off that side to make things a little easier to get to. Maybe a magnetic hex bit. Use extensions. I had to use about 3 ft of extensions to get the case off my cfmoto. The cvt case was being the gas tank. Had to take off wheel to get the tank out of the way. Just take your time. You'll get it. I have faith in your abilities. -

Put a forked prybar or flat screw driver behind the bolt. Apply a little outward pressure as you loosen the bolt. Hopefully it's just the bolt and not the case. After bolts are out. Maybe a thread chaser or maybe have to tap new threads a size bigger. -
2008 Massimo 700 high speed problem
Greg Kilgore replied to Robert G1's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
You could try a fuel pump as long as it would pump enough volume for what you need. And remember most electric fuel pumps like to push not pull. So the pump would need to be close to the tank. I replaced a fuel pump on a Kohler 18hp lawn mower with a cheap electric one and it has worked fine. But that was 1994 lawn mower not a side by side. Also if the pump supplys more gas than the machine uses there needs some place for extra gas to go so it doesn't flood the engine. Look up the specs on what the max speed SHOULD be in LOW and HIGH vs what you actually get in LOW and HIGH. A sensor could think the machine is in low when actually in high and not letting it go any faster. Is it the same speed on level ground vs an incline? Really acts and sounds like a sensor or something limiting the speed. But I have been wrong before. Someone more knowledgeable on the engines may be able to help. Hope you get it fixed and post your fix -
HOWTO- Code Scanner & Read Engine Parameters

Great info ordering cables NOW. And printing out the posts. Made an adapter to read data from my OBD1 computer on my old S10 so this should be doable. THANKS. -
2008 Massimo 700 high speed problem

Kinda acts like a Rev limiter or speed limiter. Mine will not go above 10mph without the seat belt fastened. Check that or something along that line. What is that red light in the gauge cluster? -
Bennche 500 Won’t move when in gear
Greg Kilgore replied to Iheartquads's topic in Bennche UTV SxS Forum
Sounds like the wet clutch is shot and will need to be replaced. Jack up the machine. Remove CVT cover. Start machine, place in gear, give some gas,, and see if the primary and secondary spin. Then lower back to ground with CVT cover off. Start machine, Place in gear, give some gas, and see if primary and secondary. If primary spins in air and not on ground. The. The wet clutch is shot. If primary spins on ground but not the secondary. Then the belt need replaced again or primary and secondary needs cleaned or more attention. Maybe a low oil situation but I'm sure you have already checked that. Had the same thing happen on my moto. Replaced belt and then had to replace the wet clutch. If wet clutch is shot. Recommend replacing wet clutch, clutch drum/spindle the primary attaches to, one-way/engine brake bearing. Might as well get oil filter and oil cause the clutch material had to go somewhere. I would actually get 2 oil change kits. After the repair and machine is now mobile. After riding a week or so and oil has had a chance to move around engine and wash stuff to pan. Change oil and filter again to keep stuff off your new clutch. And makes sure stuff from old clutch doesn't clog up filter and messes up your new clutch. Best of luck. -

2013 Coleman ut500 Heat coming from the rear
Greg Kilgore replied to lonerider98's topic in Coleman UTV SxS Forum
Plan on doing something like that to my axis. Something else I plan on doing is a pair of 12 volt radiator fans way up high tied to the ROPS (roll over protection system). Then have passenger and driver rocker switches. Should provide plenty of air. Plenty of air comes in at the top of windshield. And help keep dust out of cab. I have a rear windshield. That helps a LOT but still gets a little in. -
Causes Low oil. Wrong oil. Using the throttle to hold you on an incline. Instead of using the break. Hauling/towing heavy load in high gear. These are a few I can think of. Best way to test a wet clutch or a CVT belt or something else. Raise the rear of the machine. Remove the cover on CVT housing. Start machine and put in gear. See if the CVT belt is spinning the primary and secondary. Turn off machine. Leave CVT cover OFF and lower the machine. Now start and put in gear and give a little gas. Does the primary sheave turn but the CVT belt slip? Does the CVT belt slip on the secondary sheave? Does nothing turn? If nothing turns. Then probably a wet clutch issue. If CVT belt slips. Then either a belt or junk built up on sheaves. Needed either belt replaced or sheaves cleaned or both, Hopes this helps and anybody correct me if I'm wrong.

2017 Hisun 700 UTV Starting Problems
Greg Kilgore replied to Shane Maples's topic in Hisun UTV SxS Forum
A relay has one wire going to a battery that can pull large amps. Then it has a smaller wire that goes to usually a key switch or some other type of switch that pulls small amps positive wire. And a wire to a ground negative wire. In the relay, when the small positive wire gets power. It complete the circuit along with the negative wire and forms a electrical magnet that pulls a bar. One side of the bar is connected to the big amp wire. The other side of the bar is going to a fuel pump or 4x4 acturactor or lights or.......whatever. That would be the positive side of whatever device is being powered or activated. The other side of the device would still need a negative wire going to it. Either from the battery ground or frame ground. There should be a ground point or ring somewhere that has a lot of wires coming out. If the switch that turns on say the lights or 4x4 acturactor supplied all the power needed by the device. It would be very big in order to handle the amps needed by the device. With a relay. A switch can be small. And use small amperage to activate the magnet in the relay. The relay handles the big amperage. Hope this helps explain a little about the relay. Hope I didn't confuse you further. -
Got a good deal from Lowe's on an Axis 500. Same as the Hisun HS500. So I've been told. Anyway the wife is 5ft nothing and has trouble reaching the break and gas pedals. I'm needing a solution for making an adjustable seat for her when she drives. But has to go all the way back for me. Or my knees will be in the steering wheel. Anybody got a solution. Also don't like the fact that the seats are held in by the plastic.

Was on a yamaha forum the other day. They were talking about adding a shim inside the primary sheave. Supposedly it gave more gettyup on takeoff. But lowered the top end speed. Also they were talking about changing the spring on the secondary sheave. Maybe something you can research and maybe it can help. Best of luck.

Tsheh4, Would like to know what happened with getting more out of the hisun beast. I just got an Axis 500 to replace my CFMoto Uforce. They also make something called "sliders" that takes the place of the "rollers" or weights (part 5 in cliffyk's primary sheave diagram). Or at least they do for the cfmoto. The cfmoto primary sheave looks very similar. One word of warning to EVERYONE with a CVT belt. INSPECT THE BELT. My new belt on the moto lasted a 14 months. Then had a catastrophic failure at 35ish MPH and wrapped around the primary and secondary sheaves. Locking the transmission/rear tires. Sending the wife and I skidding down the highway. Ended up laying it over on drivers side. Luckily no serious injuries. Cliffyk, How hard is it to put weights in the clutch. I've seen the Cir-clip that keep the clutch paws in place. But the springs look awful stiff.

2013 hisun 500 efi utv. No fuel, no spark
Greg Kilgore replied to Robby's topic in Hisun UTV SxS Forum
I reread the posts and got me wondering. I had a TroyBilt generator with B&S engine. I changed oil one summer. Started gen and all was good. Well winter rolled around. Power went out. Went to start gen and it wouldn't hit a lick. Done everything I could and was still sitting in dark. Next day still no power. Gen still wouldn't start UNTIL I pulled the LOW OIL SHUTOFF WIRE. Wonder if his machine or any in general has a low/no oil shutoff? That would explain the running and shutoff if parked unlevel and it tripped the no oil switch. If it has one. -
Don't have a Massimo. I have a 2013 CFMOTO UForce 600. But I did order a Gates belt off Amazon. I went to the Gates website and crossed my part number over to the Gates belt. All good. FWIW, I thought the belt was my issue but turned out to be the wet clutch in my case. While I had rear of machine up in the air everything worked fine. BUT when I put the rear tires on ground with CVT cover off. Had wife put in gear and give a little gas. The nothing wanted to move. This told me the wet clutch was bad. Ordered that off Amazon also. Just don't put the one-way bearing in backward if you have one. All hope for the best. But the Gates belt are good. At least for me.

If i could not find the part number or part on a diagram. I'd get a caliper, get a thickness of remaining washer, diameter of shaft that goes thru it, max outside diameter. And look for a generic round seal from avxseals.com and look for a seal with those measurements. I have nothing to do with website. But i have ordered from them. Better seals than my oem cfmoto seals. And fast arrival time. Or some thick rubber gasket material and make one. Or maybe look for a different model or year parts diagram to see if something could match up. Best of luck.

Are you changing the drum also? Oil filter? Have you checked the oil passages to make sure they are clear? Maybe a more regular/frequent oil change? Different oil brand? Different filter brand? Don't use the clutch as a brake. What I mean is, don't use the gas pedal to keep you from rolling backwards while facing uphill. Make sure the vehicle is able to be pushed by hand I on a level surface. Maybe brakes are sticking. Or bearing issues. Steep inclines in high gear? Maybe change the settings on the pre-load spring on the cvt primary drive clutch. You may lose a little topend and holeshot. But could last longer. OEM tire size? Just a few thoughts.

Need to replace the 9 year old tires on my CFMoto Uforce 600. Was looking at the sunf a033 tires, but they dont have the specs of the existing tires. The things that really buggin me is the tire pressure. My calls for 10 in fromt and 12 in rear. But the max on these is 7. The load is close sunf is 70 front and back and mine are 77 front and 85 rear. Uforce is 1221lb and load of 70 is 7??lbs.. 7?? *4 would be at least 28??. The sunf is 6ply existing is 4ply. Guess what i asking is what do you guys think and what are you guys running for tires or replacement tires?

Just wanted to update. avxseals had the part. Shipping time wasn't too bad as I remember. The seals from avxseals were better quality than the OEM. You may have to dig a little to find the size of the seal you need from your OEM parts diagram. Then go to avxseals and search by size to get a better seal but it is worth it. Since ordering this part I've had to make other orders from them. Didn't even attempt to get OEM.

BMS Stallion 600 freewheel going downhill
Greg Kilgore replied to Phil's topic in Other UTV SxS Forum
My cfmoto Uforce 600 had the wet clutch go out. Before the clutch went out the engine brake worked just fine. I got a replacement wet clutch, clutch drum, engine brake, etc from Amazon and not official cfmoto parts. After putting everything back together with the new engine brake. Mine acted just as you have described. Most of the time it would engage. There were times it would not. But hitting the gas would raise RPMs and then the engine brake would engage. In the 6 months mine has been doing this. It hasn't hurt anything. Maybe caused a little more brake pad wear when engine brake wasn't engaged but that is about it. But I don't ride in extreme situations very often with the wife. -
sound and heat insulationing for UTVs
Greg Kilgore replied to Mackc's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
Mackc Same problem with my 600 single cylinder. Noise from engine bay. As said I have some heat shield / noise shield. Once I install it I will let you know if it makes a difference. I'm on vacation next week and that is something I plan on doing. -
2013 hisun 500 efi utv. No fuel, no spark
Greg Kilgore replied to Robby's topic in Hisun UTV SxS Forum
My 2013 Uforce has a red push button kill switch on dash left of steering wheel. Look and see. May be something you missed. May not be there. Could use multi meter and check for voltage at fuel pump plug. Possibly trace back wires. But fuel pump not working and no spark sounds like a roll over protection switch or relay that needs to be reset. -
sound and heat insulationing for UTVs

Same as Macky. Reduce engine noise and heat in cab. 2013 CFMoto Uforce. Windshield and roof. No doors or back cab enclosure. -
sound and heat insulationing for UTVs
Greg Kilgore replied to Mackc's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
Well I'd also like to know what you guys in the engine compartment for sound deadening. The 2013 cfmoto Uforce is murder on the ears. I got some double sided foil heat shield with about 1/4 inch foam like middle off amazon. Haven't took time to install any of it yet. Have to install a snorkel for intake first. Since the intake is in the center console area. Once snorkel is installed to allow fresh air for the intake. Then install the heat shield and block that vent in center console. That will block a lot of the heat and hopefully some of the sound.
